Hi!  I'm Rachel Nelson.  I live in Queen Creek/Gilbert area and am a "transplant" so to speak. I actually attended High school here in AZ and moved back home to San Diego after.

I have 6 kids, my oldest is 13, and my youngest is 2. Being a foster mom is a huge part of my life as well.  We are working on being licensed here in AZ now as well.

I absolutely love gardening messing around with herbology, and more than likely, you'll find me making potions like Professor Snape! Yes, I'm a Harry Potter nerd.

I was also one of the Doula's at St. Joes Midwifery Birth Center in Washington State while I lived here, for several years.  One of the only centers with Doula care on site!

I have an extraordinary passion and pull for pregnancy and birth. I was a foster child and grew up without the loving support of a mother and father. Creating a family of my own was and has been extremely important to me. My own birthing experience has been a interesting one, and is what brought me to this side of birth work, many years ago.

After birthing my first and having a poor experience, being left to pick up the pieces of how my labor and delivery went, I began researching my options.  I was not educated enough to acquire a doula.  My 2nd was a planned birth center birth that did not happen.  I just did not make it.  I was 80 mins from the first contraction to a baby.  So, he was born in my driveway in an ambulance!  With my third, I got to experience the most beautiful home water birth.   And, I had a doula.  Everything went as planned, and he arrived 3 hours from the first contraction.   And then my fourth.  He was a planned home birth, but I went overdue and his heart rate was not looking good.  So, induction it was.   The point is, I know what not going to plan is like and how being fully supported if these situations arise is a game changer.

I also have a spot deep within my soul for those that have lost.  My journey has not been an easy one.  Through infertility and babies lost along the way, I feel for those who have high anxiety over their current pregnancies and broken souls over the past.  My dream is to help guide those to their rainbows with love and compassion and to blanket them with the sense of security.

My hope is to provide comfort, support, and strength to those in need.  I am a firm believer that pregnancy and birth support should be obtainable to all.  Everyone deserves support, which is why I offer payment plans based on individual need.

I am certified through PALS and IDI.

I am committed to continuing my education and providing the most up to date care and services.
